RATES FOR PHOTOGRAPHING ART

(Please send people to this page: I'll give you a 10% discount on the non-fee,
non-expense part our next shoot for a referral that results in a shoot with a
new client.)

Materials costs, film costs, development costs, and slide-mounting costs are
all included in these prices. Transportation and various other posible fees
and expenses (all listed below) are not.

$200 minimum per on-site visit (this can be shared by more than one client
on the same site at the same time). This is not a fee on top of the work
charge: it's just the smallest bill (not including travel and delivery fees)
that I'm willing to charge to make a visit worth my while.

$30 round-trip travel fee to an on-location job in lower Manhattan or
Williamsburg/Greenpoint. Higher fees for other locations, depending on
convenience (almost always less than $60 within the five boroughs).

$20 fee for delivery of final results in person or via FedEx (unnecessary
if you can download the results; waived or reduced if you can meet me or
pick up at convenient time and place).

$1 per 100 MB fee for downloading files from a private page on my Web site.

35% extra charge on per-shot prices to photograph video/motion picture
works (includes custom Photoshop reconciliation of room exposure with
screen exposure, if moving image can be paused. Waived if you need no
pausing or reconciliation). Also, 35% extra on per-shot prices to photograph
flat works covered in glass or Plexiglas, except as part of installation views.
I also sometimes need to charge extra for shots of three-dimensional art
and for art situatedin cramped quarters, depending on the difficulty of
lighting it.

$150 expense charge per shoot for hiring an assistant, only if you decide
that you need me to have one (they have day rates).

digital files at 300 ppi:

--up to 8.64 x 12.9 inches: $25
--up to 333 square inches: $30
--333 square inches and up: 9 cents per square inch ($1 per megapixel)
A 300 ppi file measuring 23 x 23 inches, for example, would cost
$0.09 x 529 square inches = $47.61. Depending on the shape of the rec-
tangle you need, files as large as 115 Megapixels are available (more than
30 x 40 inches at 300 ppi). Includes .tif and .jpg files, museum-catalog-quality
standardized corrections for color space, white balance,contrast, sharpness,
noise reduction, perspective, and squaring of rectangles. Files are optimised
and reproduction-ready.

$10 per cd burned with digital images (an entire job might fit on one cd,
especially if you only need full-resolution .jpgs and don't need .tifs)

$15 per dvd burned with digital images (an entire job might fit on one dvd,
even if you need .tifs)

Film

$170 per pair of 8x10 inch transparenies of a unique view
$55 per additional 8x10 inch transparency of the same view
$300 expense charge for rental of 8x10 camera equipment

$45 per first 4x5 inch transparency of a unique view
$15 per additional 4x5 inch transparency of the same view

$25 per first 35 mm transparency of a unique view
$5 per additional 35 mm transparency of the same view

Your shoot will be booked when your booking deposit, via PayPal or
check or cash, is received.

I document art deliberately and accurately, so I do not charge by the
hour for it.
