RATES FOR PHOTOGRAPHING PEOPLE $700 per half day $1200 per day $200 per hour after the first 8 hours, billable in 30-minute increments These rates cover my time, but do not cover files or prints, which cost extra, per image, as described below. A half day is defined as time spent working up to 4 hours, and allowing, hypothetically, another half-day job to be worked for another client on the same day. The day rate applies to any job lasting 8 hours or fewer and more than 4 hours, including time in transport. Included: I will shoot digital photos in raw mode at whatever pace and volume and with whatever perfectionism or looseness is appropriate to the project. I will post images to a password- protected online proofing gallery; these files are for selection purposes only, and will be low-resolution, with rudimentary, approximate, automatic enhancements for color balance and contrast and brightness, and so on. Click here for an example of such a gallery. From this kind of online proofing gallery, you can order files and/or prints: Extra: Extra, for $1 per image: Full-resolution jpeg images processed by me with automatic enhancements, printable as is, but not nearly optimised, not custom-enhanced: they would still benefit greatly from having me, or the printing lab of your choice, do custom enhancements. Extra, for $1 per print plus tax and shipping: 4x6 proof prints made from the files mentioned above, automatically-corrected (not custom-enhanced); you can choose them online. Extra, for $10 per image: Full-resolution jpeg images custom-enhanced: custom-cropped and custom-corrected for color, contrast, brightness, sharpness, saturation, etc. These are files that you could give to a lab for low-cost exhibition- quality/album-quality printing without need of further enhancement. They are also the files I would use to print the following: Extra, for wholesale plus $10 per first printing of an image (and for wholesale prices plus $1 per each additional printing of same image): perfected files (as described above) and exhibition-quality/album-quality custom prints. To see the long list of wholesale prices of the lab I use, click here. (If these wholesale prices rise, then I will have to charge accordingly, of course.) Example: to buy three 8 x 10 inch custom prints of the same image (and the enhanced file it came from), you would pay ($2.25 + $10) + ($2.25 + $1) + ($2.25 + $1) =18.75 plus tax and shipping. One nice thing about this professional lab (in addition to their printing) is that I can post all your pictures in their automatically- corrected state on a private page of their site. Then you can review them online, tell me to delete some of them, and share the online gallery with others so that all of you can choose pictures, build separate shopping carts, and place orders separately with your credit cards online, at which point the lab notifies me of your orders so that I can custom- crop and custom-enhance only the files that are ordered. Extra: travel expenses outside of Manhattan: tickets and accommodations at cost plus $25 per hour in transit. Specialty Film Photography: My base prices for the packages above apply to my working with digital SLR cameras. I am happy to also offer the option of shooting color negative film and black & white negative film in the 4x5 inch format, the 6x7 cm format, and the 35mm format for increased prices. My 4x5 inch Linhof Technikardan 45s and my 6x7 cm Mamiya 7ii cameras give especially beautiful results for images that will be enlarged beyond 16x24 inches. Here are the extra charges for shooting film, including proof prints or a proof book: $10 per sheet of 4x5 inch film (1 sheet yields one frame; some will be discarded) $25 per roll for 220 film (1 roll yields 20 6x7cm frames, some of which I'll discard) $20 per roll for 35mmfilm (1 roll yields 36 35mm frames, some of which I'll discard) I recommend that you budget for me to shoot at least 60 frames per hour. Booking: Dates are reserved upon receipt of a non-refundable deposit for 50% of the time rate. Balance of the time rate must be paid by the day of the shoot. |
